Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Yes hello!
I was wondering if you guys could help me with a little plot problem im having, and i was wondering if you could tell me your ideas.

In my story DemonX there is the demon world and the human world. now...i have two ideas about humans in this.

1) The humans have never been seen in the demon realm and many stories have been told about them, wild over the top stories such as "did you know humans are so powerful they can control the mind of a demon without any effort at all, that's why they were banished to a separate realm" which is not true but they fear the legends of the humans. With this a can do lots of jokes where the main girl reveals herself and demons are scared of her.

2) The humans are slaves and hunted for the entertainment of the demon society. they live in fear and have to be on the run all the time. with this I could include a human resistance group where they try to rebel against the demon realm.

As you can see they are very different ideas which could change the whole style of my story and I would like to know which one you prefer....

p.s. if you have any ideas for the name of the main girl character i would be glad to hear them

Yeah thanks, I've actually came up with a great idea for my story now. DemonX is now the first part of a main story of 4 parts with three different protagonists. :3 I'm so excited about it.

This journal was a while ago but if you're still looking for opinions then the first one is much more interesting to me. Its a nice twist on a classic element. The second one is quite bland and predictable by comparison in my opinion.

P.S. Do you have any ideas for the Name of the main girl in the story, She's human, so it has to be quite ordinary but it has to stand out a little, if you get what I mean. The first part of the story is set in England normal time, where she lives. If you have any ideas that would be great! I've been thinking for about a year now and can't come up with anything...Thanks again.

To be honest i suck with names, they are usually the last thing a concentrate on when thinking of a story. So sorry but i cant give you any good ideas there. Frankly i think the name is less important, just give her something simple to work with and start building your story, as the story progresses either whatever name you give her will grow on you, or you will realize in the process what the name should be.

So the important thing i think to do is not stress to much on the name and just make the start the story. Name her Sarah or something. Or do what i do, Google English female names
